These are the prices that are used to calculate the cost of developing an app whether it’s an iOS, Android, Blackberry or Windows Mobile app.

Base Price

£250 per day

Service Level Agreements

%40 of total cost of app per year providing the customer with 4 production support requests per year

Example 1

Total cost of app = £1000
%40 of total cost = £400
SLA term = 2 years
SLA price = £800
Number of support requests = 8 total (4 per year)
Total cost inc. SLA = £1800

Example 2

Total cost of app = £1000
%40 of total cost = £400
SLA term = 6 months
SLA price = £200
Number of support requests = 2 total (4 per year)
Total cost inc. SLA = £1200

Notes

These prices are fixed until 31st March 2015
When quoting x number of days, these are not concurrent days
Support requests outside of the scope of an SLA are charged by the day at the current day rate at the time of the request

Tips For Reducing Development Costs

To reduce development costs for any type of app and to increase the ‘user experience’ of the app you should, at the very least, create a design document showing all the process flows of the app with screen shots.  The screen shots don’t need to be pretty but ideally they should be accurate and final (i.e. not subject to change).
